I have no doubt it would work well with light baits, too, but Ive had it spooled with 40-pound test braid since I got it, and its great for swim jigs, frogs, buzzbaits, spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, and Whopper Ploppers
Jigs usually cast farther than standard bass lures, and you can use a heavier line, allowing excellent protection against the thick cover
